It introduces key architectural concerns such as design, form, space, material, culture and society and how these interact. It also engages with ideas of how ideology and representation work in architecture to promote specific views of the world. The conclusion of the course is an academic essay that locates the student\u2019s world and ideas within critically formed world views.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#000000\">Awareness of historical and cultural precedents in local and world architecture. Awareness of the fine arts as an influence on the quality of architectural design. Awareness of philosophy, politics, and ethics as related to architecture. Awareness of the histories and theories of architecture and the related arts, technologies and human sciences. Awareness of the cultural (including fine and design arts), social and intellectual histories, theories and technologies that influence the design of buildings. Awareness of the influence of history and theory on the spatial, social, and technological aspects of architecture. Awareness of the application of appropriate theoretical concepts to studio design projects, demonstrating a reflective and critical approach.
